Richard E McCue Inc traces its roots back to 1969 when Richard McCue graduated from the Oliver Wolcott Technical School carpentry program. After gaining valuable experience working for a building contractor in Lakeville, Richard established his own small general contracting business in 1975.

Over the decades, Richard’s business has grown to become a leading provider of upscale, custom homes in the area. Operating out of a 7,000 square foot shop equipped with state-of-the-art tools and machinery, Richard takes pride in his ability to handle virtually any type of construction job.

At Richard E McCue Inc, Richard personally oversees every job, ensuring the highest standards of quality and craftsmanship. Our Project Manager Skylar Mahaffey helps Rick oversee every job with daily check-ins and site meetings with architects and clients. In addition, she focuses on planning, coordination, and management of the day-to-day onsite with every project. Erica McCue, our Office Manager, handles our billing and daily communications with subcontractors.

Richard’s commitment to quality extends to his relationships with subcontractors, many of whom have been working with him for over three decades. By collaborating closely with trusted subcontractors, Richard ensures consistent quality and performance on every project.

To maintain focus and attention to detail, Richard limits his workload to four to five houses per year. In addition to new construction, he tackles renovations, additions, and ongoing work for existing clients. Each project is executed using the AIA contract system with an attached Schedule of Values document, ensuring transparency and accountability throughout the construction process.

Richard E McCue Inc is fully insured and licensed in both Connecticut and New York, holding licenses from the Connecticut Department of Consumer Protection for home improvement and new home construction.
